our impact
Over the years…
Against the backdrop of the past seven years, the food bank has been a beacon of support in Derry Township. Challenges facing the nation during COVID resulted in additional government support which reduced the reliance on the food bank. As this support expired, need began to again grow. 2023 was a particularly challenging year for clients due to increasing food, housing and utility costs.
Our commitment to serving our neighbors remains steadfast. As we progress into 2024 and beyond, the upward trajectory in the number of family visits highlights both the ongoing challenges faced by our community and the enduring dedication of our food bank to making a positive impact in Hershey. Together, we navigate these uncertain times, ensuring that no family goes hungry.

Pounds of Food Distributed
Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have been able to keep up with the steady increase in demand. In 2025, we distributed 349,374 pounds of food. The food distributed comes from a combination of food that is purchased (about 70%) and food that is donated (about 30%). Our monetary and food contributions come from individuals, businesses, churches, and foundations/clubs. We are so happy and grateful to receive either type of donation!
